Jersey Oyster Slalom Championships 30 Sep – 1 Oct 2017

Hello Windsurfers

The wind forecast is looking great for the Jersey Oyster Slalom Championships this weekend so we’re going to split the event over two days.

Saturday 30th September will be the Youth Slalom Championships.
This is open to all the clubs junior members using Kona boards and any sail with club kit available. Courses will be simple reaching courses and we aim to have 3-5 races depending on the conditions.
We will meet at Bel Royal to be ready for a racers meeting at 10:30 with the first start at 11:00.
Any adults are also welcome to come out and practice on the course in between/after the youth races.

Sunday 1st October will be the Open Slalom Championships.
This is open to everyone with no equipment restrictions. Again the courses will be simple reaching courses and aiming for 3-5 races.
We will meet at Bel Royal to be ready for a racers meeting at 10:30 with the first start at 11:00.
Even if you’re normally a wave sailor only it would be great to have as many windsurfers to come out to race and support the event, and when the winds up a good gybe could make all the difference whether you’re on top slalom gear or a quad fin waveboard.

Mic Trehorel has kindly offered to support us with the Rowing Club rib both days so if anyone can volunteer to help him out either for the Saturday or the Sunday please get in touch.

Hope to see you all on the water at the weekend
